Science: Fall weather and animal needs

Reading: Letters 

We finish up letter names and sounds. Anything your child needs to work on is highlighted on the behavior chart. Please work on those each day. I would love to come back from fall break with all students knowing all letter names and sounds. After fall break we begin learning the rules of phonics.

If you did not send back the habitat project please do so soon. Students are sharing those on Friday. I was very impressed with the ones I saw today. The kids were excited to show those off.

Q and U wedding will be streamed on the school facebook page at 10:30. Students are encouraged to dress up!

Ciencia: el clima otoñal y las necesidades de los animales

Terminamos con los nombres de las letras y los sonidos. Cualquier cosa en la que su hijo necesite trabajar está resaltada en la tabla de comportamiento. Por favor, trabaje en ellos todos los días. Me encantaría volver de las vacaciones de otoño con todos los estudiantes sabiendo todos los nombres y sonidos de las letras. Después de las vacaciones de otoño comenzamos a aprender las reglas de la fonética.

Si no devolvió el proyecto de hábitat, hágalo pronto. Los estudiantes los compartirán el viernes. Quedé muy impresionado con los que vi hoy. Los niños estaban emocionados de mostrarlos.

1 de octubre: Fin del primer trimestre de clases.

La boda Q y U se transmitirá en la página de Facebook de la escuela a las 10:30. Se anima a los estudiantes a disfrazarse.

Science: Leaves, animal needs 

Reading: Letters 

 We have six more letters to cover. I have asked students today all the letter names and sounds. If they got them all correct, they earned their galaxy slime for being ‘out of this world’. It is very important that students know their names and sounds. After fall break, we begin learning phonic’s rules and reading. Students need to have the letter sounds mastered. Please review them each day with your child. We are also working on them one on one here at school. 

Next Monday, students will have a habitat assignment. We have been talking about what animals need to drive (food, water and shelter). Students will choose an animal and then create a habitat for them. We are going to be talking about this for the next two weeks and an official note will be sent home Wednesday.

On the back of the behavior chart I am listing the letters covered and the new ones we will cover this week. Please go over these each night with your child. It is very important that students master these letters. We move into blending right after fall break.

En la parte posterior de la tabla de comportamiento, enumero las letras cubiertas y las nuevas que cubriremos esta semana. Por favor, repase esto cada noche con su hijo. Es muy importante que los estudiantes dominen estas letras. Pasamos a la mezcla justo después de las vacaciones de otoño.

Friday we will be having career day, students are encouraged to dress up like something they would like to be when they are older. Remember that props should not be sent. For example if your child chooses a cop, they can not bring in a gun or any other weapon. This does not have to be a costume, just find things around the home that can go with that career.
