Book baggies will need to be returned Thursday (12-2-21) for Zip and Friday for library books. Students have a goal of 2.5  points.  Each library book they read is worth .5 points, if they make a 100%.  If students have met this goal, I will be sending home a book buck chart on Friday. This  is something students earn after making their goal. The chart tells you how much you need to save in order to get prizes. This quarter the highest amount of book bucks a child could earn is 3 book bucks. Students would have had to make a 100 on every quiz taken so far. Both this quarter and next, we will have assigned days to return library books. In the last quarter of school students have a point goal and can read as quickly as they want to make their goal (no assigned day). We start book bucks now to get them excited about earning book bucks when their goal is higher.

 I will send home the chart on Friday after the AR quizzes to any student who has made their goal. 

Student goals between now and Christmas Break:

Level 4 in Lexia

Level 21 in Mathseeds

Level B in Raz Kids

2.5 points in reading

Knowing all sights words covered

Counting to 100

Knowing all letters of the alphabet (names and sounds)

Ask your child where they are and encourage them to try their best to get there.

Science/Social Studies: Thanksgiving, comparing past and present celebrations

Reading: cvc words (consonant vowel consonant)

Sight words: will, make, me, pretty, am

On the back of the behavior chart are week five sight words. Please keep the behavior charts on Friday so you have a running list of all words covered.

(if there were letters, sounds, or numbers for your child to still work on those are written on the behavior chart as well). If your child is not mastering the sight words on Friday, please work on all the words listed. It is very important that they master these each week.

In your child’s folder is word list 5. I encourage you to listen as your child blends those letters to say the word.

Students should be reading both The Big Trip and their library book each night, along with reviewing sight words.

Please send your child’s turkey in disguise back tomorrow if you didn’t today.

Palabras a la vista: will, make, me, pretty, am

En la parte posterior de la tabla de comportamiento hay palabras reconocibles a la vista de la semana cinco. Conserve las tablas de comportamiento el viernes para tener una lista actualizada de todas las palabras cubiertas.

(Si había letras, sonidos o números para que su hijo aún trabajara en ellos, también están escritos en la tabla de comportamiento). Si su hijo no domina las palabras reconocibles a la vista el viernes, trabaje en todas las palabras enumeradas. Es muy importante que los dominen cada semana.

En la carpeta de su hijo está la lista de palabras 5. Le animo a que escuche mientras su hijo combina esas letras para decir la palabra.

Los estudiantes deben leer tanto The Big Trip como su libro de la biblioteca cada noche, junto con la revisión de palabras reconocibles a la vista.

Envíe mañana el pavo disfrazado de su hijo si no lo hizo hoy.

Mrs. Jessica Gong started today as the new instructional assistant for Kindergarten! We are excited to welcome her to our team!
