Upcoming Events:

Feb 2- To celebrate our unique number combination on the calendar we are challenging all GC Elementary Schools to a $2 challenge.  Students and staff in GC can participate in Hat Day on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.  For those that can, we ask for a $2 donation.  If you want "two" you can wear 2 hats!  Our goal is to raise $2,222 on 2/2/22 for Homes and Hope for Kentucky!  This program's ultimate mission is to assist in the long-term disaster recovery of Mayfield and Graves County.

2 de febrero: para celebrar nuestra combinación única de números en el calendario, desafiamos a todas las escuelas primarias de GC a un desafío de $2. Los estudiantes y el personal de GC pueden participar en el Día del Sombrero el miércoles 2 de febrero de 2022. Para aquellos que puedan, pedimos una donación de $2. ¡Si quieres "dos" puedes usar 2 sombreros! ¡Nuestra meta es recaudar $2,222 el 2/2/22 para Homes y Hope for Kentucky! The 100th day will be on Thursday. Students are encouraged to dress like they are 100. 100th Day projects can be sent home anytime between now and THursday.

If your child has missed any sight words, I am attaching those to their behavior chart. Students should be reviewing any missed words nightly. I assess on all them (new words and any missed) Friday.

El día 100 será el jueves. Se alienta a los estudiantes a vestirse como si fueran 100. Los proyectos del Día 100 se pueden enviar a casa en cualquier momento entre ahora y el jueves.

Si su hijo ha perdido alguna palabra de uso frecuente, las adjunto a su tabla de comportamiento. Los estudiantes deben revisar las palabras perdidas todas las noches. Evalúo sobre todas ellas (palabras nuevas y alguna perdida) el viernes.

Jueves-Regreso lector de fonética “My Pal Bo”

Viernes- Devolución de libros de la biblioteca. Las metas de los estudiantes son 3 puntos.

Si su hijo no devolvió sus libros de solución simple rojos o verdes, ¡devuélvalos mañana!

We had a fun day watching the Polar Express and exchanging Christmas gifts. I am so glad we finally got to do that.

Students will not have their book baggies as long this week. Please make sure they are ready to fluently read their phonics reader on Thursday and take their AR test on Friday.

Thursday-Return phonics reader “Pig’s Jet”

Friday- Return library books. We are starting the third nine weeks, and students' goals are 3 points. 

Friday is Winter Wonderland. We will have a lot of activities to do that day, so please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes.

Important: All sight words covered so far were assessed today. If your child’s behavior chart does not have a star, they missed some words. Those are circled. Please go over these multiple times. Sight words are a very important part of Kindergarten and being prepared for first grade. We have new words this week.

Pasamos un día divertido viendo el Polar Express e intercambiando regalos de Navidad. Estoy tan contenta de que finalmente pudimos hacer eso.

Los estudiantes no tendrán sus bolsas de libros por tanto tiempo esta semana. Asegúrese de que estén listos para leer con fluidez su lector de fonética el jueves y tomar su prueba AR el viernes.

Jueves-Regreso lector de fonética “Pig’s Jet”

Viernes- Devolución de libros de la biblioteca. Estamos comenzando las terceras nueve semanas y las metas de los estudiantes son 3 puntos.

El viernes es Winter Wonderland. Tendremos muchas actividades para hacer ese día, así que asegúrese de que su hijo use ropa cómoda.

Importante: Todas las palabras de vista cubiertas hasta ahora fueron evaluadas hoy. Si la tabla de comportamiento de su hijo no tiene una estrella, se perdieron algunas palabras. Esos están en un círculo. Por favor repáselo varias veces. Las palabras de uso frecuente son una parte muy importante del jardín de infantes y de la preparación para el primer grado. Tenemos nuevas palabras esta semana.

Sight words: Weeks 1-8 review. Students will be assessed on all words learned so far. They have a list of all the words in their folder.

Welcome back! I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas. As we wrap up the second nine weeks of school, we have a lot to finish up and review.

Since we have had our book baggies for several weeks, if you want to go ahead and send those back tomorrow, you can. All book baggies with both books need to be returned WEDNESDAY. So they can either do both books Tuesday or Wednesday. I will send home new books (library and decodables) on Friday.

Socks-We will still be having our Christmas gift exchange. Send your socks in by Wednesday, if your child is participating. Christmas socks or fun socks will work.

Thursday-Polar Express day, students can wear their pajamas to school :)

Thursday evening at 6:30 will be the in person Christmas program. 

Friday is Winter Wonderland. We will have a lot of activities to do that day, so please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes.
