The 100th day of school is Tuesday, January 28th (if we do not miss any days before that). You will find two notes in your child’s folder. One is about dressing up on the 100th day like they are 100 years old. The other is about the 100th day project that is due on Tuesday January 21st. Students use 100 items and make them into something. We display them in the hallway and then share on the 100th day.

We are starting addition in math groups. Please review the words for the symbols in addition with your child (+ (plus) = (equal)). We use numbers bonds to show how two parts come together and make the whole number. Any practice students do at home will help them greatly at school.

NTI

The Non-Traditional Instruction Program (NTI) is a program that encourages the continuation of academic instruction on days when school would otherwise be cancelled. School districts create plans to deliver instruction to every student in the district and provide for student and teacher interaction on NTI days, with the ultimate goal of continuing instruction.

Our district uses NTI in the event of multiple days of missed school. The paper packets sent home have three days of work in them.  So if the district calls NTI day 1, you would complete the work labeled day 1. Only do the next two days, if more NTI days are called. You will know that it is NTI day if the school website says so. Not all snow days are NTI, it will be called NTI day if that is what we are using.

You may check the school webpage, school facebook page or WPSD for school closures.

If we have three NTI days, I will send more work home to be prepared for more NTI days.
