Phonics: fluency reading for word families

Math-Money

Reading/Science- Dinosaurs

Sight words- tell, eat, think, our, once, around, was, gave

*Word list 24/25-Will send home tomorrow

 *Students should be taking at least two test a week, if they have not made their goal. Students should be at 75% by Friday.

*once your child has made their AR goal, they will get two papers. One is a book buck chart (please keep in their folder or book baggie). Every book they score 80% or higher on, they will get one book buck. They will color one square on their chart to keep up with how many book bucks they have. They will also get a book buck list to tell them what they can buy with their bucks. They can either buy from the list, or save their book bucks for the book buck store that will be open on May 19^th. 

We are down to the last 6 yearbooks, if you need one. They are $25

Remaining Running Club dates for Kindergarten: May 6^th, May 20^th

May 1^st-Money Supper (if you need a ticket please let me know soon)

May 18^th- Last Day to get AR points (must have goal by 10:00 am)-we will have our movie reward for all students who met their goal that afternoon. All library books are due on this day.

May 19^th- AR REWARD for all four quarters. If students meet their 4^th quarter goal they will also celebrate this day too. All students in Kindergarten met the first three quarters by reading decodable books. As long as they meet their goal this time, they will be rewarded. Book buck store will be opened on this day.

May 20^th-Graduation 9 am Students will get 6 tickets per family.

May 21^st-Last Day of school-Field day

Reading/Science- Earth Day, multiple meaning words

Sight words- one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten

*Word list 22/23

 *Students should be taking at least two test a week, if they have not made their goal. Students should be at 65% by Friday.

*once your child has made their AR goal, they will get two papers. One is a book buck chart (please keep in their folder or book baggie). They will also get a book buck list to tell them what they can buy with their bucks. Yearbooks are here and ready to be sold. If you would like to purchase a yearbook for your child, the cost is $25.00. They will be sold starting tomorrow and we will sell until they are gone.

They will also get a book buck list to tell them what they can buy with their bucks. Sight words- could, walk, laugh, take, of, has, drink, far

*Word list 19/20 Please go over the word ‘was’

*We do not have any more phonics readers, students should be reading library books nightly. I suggest at least two books a week.

*Students should be taking at least two test a week. Students should be at 40% by Friday.

 

We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 2^nd. If you want to send an Easter basket, you may.

Spring break is next week.

Kindergarten graduation will be Thursday, May 20^th at 9 am.

Sight words- fast, please, down, him, her, upon, why, for

*Word list 18

*Phonics Reader, What is my pet? Students will read this book each night. Sign and return on Friday. Please leave book baggies at home until Friday. This will be our last decodable book.

*Every night students should read their black and white phonics reader and go over their sight words. If students missed any words on the wordlist, they need to go over those multiple times as well.

 

*Please turn in cap and tassel money by Friday $8.75. Thank you to everyone who has already done so. Checks need to be made out to Fancy Farm Ele.

*Students should be taking at least two test a week. Students should be at 30% by Friday. I will send an updated percentage on Thursday

 

We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 2^nd. Please send the following by Monday the 29^th:

 

All students-a white shirt (we will be tie dying these)

Girls-a pack of plastic eggs

Boys- a bag of candy

Dress up days for Regional Basketball tournament this week:

Tuesday-Jersey day    Wednesday- Disney Day        Thursday- Hat Day    Friday- Blue and white

Kindergarten graduation

 

*It is time to begin preparing for our Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony that will be in May. We have gowns that are used year after year, but students purchase their own caps and tassels. Cost is $8.75 and is due March 26^th. You may send in any time before the 26^th. If you need assistance covering the cost of the cap and tassel, please contact our family resource center (270-674-4822).

 

You may send cash or check. Checks need to be made out to Fancy Farm Elementary.
