This week’s content:
● Reading: Fall Leaves
● Writing: cvc words
● Math: place value an identifying numbers to 30
● Phonics: long vowels (so, no, me, hi)
● Science: spiders and Bats
● SIght words- like, cat, to, and, dog
● Homework: Letter identification, Counting Goals, sight words, word list.
Notes:
● We have new sight words. The words and sentences are on the back of your child’s behavior
chart. They should practice these each night. We will assess them on Friday.
● Word list 2 is coming home tonight. We will do these every Monday. These are CVC
(consonant, vowel, consonant) words. Practice these nightly and we will reassess on Friday.
The word that is circled is a sight word, so please help your child memorize that word. We
have added these words to the behavior chart.
● Library books will need to be returned on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Monday
readers went today to get a new book and Tuesday readers will go tomorrow. Students will
have two nights with their library books. Please read their book to them, at least three times,
and ask questions about the book.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
● October 24th- Parent Teacher Conferences 3 pm-6 pm-call Mrs. Jill at 328-4820 to schedule your appointment.
● October 31st- Halloween-Parents are welcome to come at 1:30 pm for our trick-or-treating and snack time.
Students can wear their costumes all day. Please no face paint or props.
